Applied Qigong- Tai Chi Training Structured Courses

Course - I

This Certificate course has three levels-Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. A Training Certificate will be awarded on successful completion of each Level.

CHTTQ Course 1 - Level 1

The following three exercises will be taught in Level 1

Ba Duan Jin.
Also known as 8 Jewels or 8 Brocades (as a whole) is broken down into 8 separate exercises, each focusing on 8 different physical areas, organs and Qi meridians (energy paths). It can be done standing, sitting and lying down and is customised to your needs.

Classical Yin and Yang Palm Qi Harnessing
Qi or energy is everything in Qigong and Taichi. It is the main ingredient. These movements will enable you to sense and use your Qigong and Universal Qi (Natures Qi).

Taiji Walking
Taiji walking is a profound and easy moving meditation for soothing stress and maximizing Qi flow and strengthening one's legs.It’s the foundation for the well known Tai Chi Form.

Level 1 learners will receive bonus techniques taught exclusively at Carlton Hill’s Tao Taiji Qigong.
Duration:
~ 3 months-Twelve one hour sessions
~ 2 day intensive course (7 hours per day)

CHTTQ Course 1 - Level 2

Pre-requisite for Level 2 is completion of Course 1- Level 1

The following four exercises will be taught in Level 2

Opening the Three Dan Tiens
Also known as The Three Treasures, opening the Three Dan Tiens is a Qi cultivation/ Nei Gong practice. The main aim is to increase the capacity of one’s Qi/energy and to store this vital life force.
One always has the power to overcome stress and self heal when the three dan tiens are fully charged/open.

Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan 8 Form
This is a simple, gentle yet powerful set of 8 movements combined together to flow rhythmically .This form comprises of the principles of Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan.

Qigong Breathing
Meditation and deep breathing are intrinsic practices of Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan. These encourage inner calm and peace as well as the cleansing of stale air as per Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It helps relax one’s muscles and release tension.

Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan Postures or Stances
These postures are designed to enhance one’s health, power and agility. They are the foundation of all the longer forms and various Taichi styles.

Level 2 learners will receive bonus techniques taught exclusively at Carlton Hill’s Tao Taiji Qigong.

~ 3 months-Twelve one hour sessions
~ 2 day intensive course (7 hours per day)

CHTTQ Course 1 - Level 3

Pre-requisite for Level 3 is completion of Course 1- Level 2

The following four exercises will be taught in Level 3

Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan 16 Form
This form consists of 16 movements and increases one’s endurance by sustaining the footwork for a longer duration. This also increases the power of Qi flow in the body.

Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan Self Defense and Healing Moves
Tai Chi Chuan/Taijiquan Self Defense movements will introduce one to the basic aspects of combat. Tai Chi Chuan Healing moves are designed for healing specific organ systems.

Zhang Zhuang - Qigong Standing Meditation
Also known as Standing Like a Tree, Zhang Zhuang helps rebalance one’s qi from the head to the centre of the body (Lower Dan Tien). By bringing awareness to this region, one begins integrating one’s body with the mind which helps reconnect with one’s instincts and gut feeling. This leads to clear thinking, effective decisions, improving one’s focus and concentration in whatever you do, becoming a power house of internal Qi.

Level 3 learners will receive bonus techniques taught exclusively at Carlton Hill’s Tao Taiji Qigong.
